Dear Baha’i community,
Saving the environment takes courage. When we make choices we need to follow our heart. The earth is one family and our one home.
The climate activist Greta Thunberg protests outside her school once a week to raise awareness about climate change and the affects it will have on Sweden. It’s a coastal nation that is in danger of sea level rise. Greta Thunberg is courageous person because it takes a person with courage to go against the stream. Protesting demonstrates how our governments, schools and institutions need to change.
Right now our governments are responsible for rainforest deforestation and do nothing about it. This is why we need a local self-government. We need to learn from our local heroes like Greta Thurnberg. We have to find new ways of being in the world. To effect change we need to be leaders. To figure what is good and was is bad for the environment we have to follow our hearts. We cannot search after a pay check any longer.
We need to be educated, take action and learn from leaders. We can turn to nature for inspiration. Then we start by personal changes, then reach out to the community and finally become advocates.
Dear Baha’i Community, what does it mean to be a Baha’i in this world that is advancing so very quickly but at the same time is very backwards in so many ways?
How can we work together to make this vision a success?
