Series of Healing Centers

Dear Step Clinic, Easter Seals Act Team. And all the readers of the blog.

Nature is a coping mechanism

If we are going to treat all the people with mental illness, we need to do something drastic. We need to start healing centers everywhere. This can be at our national parks, state parks, and local land conservancies. Nature is a good place to be healed because it is peaceful and quiet. Nature is a coping mechanism in a way and because it is therapeutic it should be a human right.

We might have healing farms here and there, but there are so many people with mental illness. For these people with mental illness there is a need to stay for more than the standard treatment which is typically twenty eight days.

To meet this need we need to something drastic. We need to get people out of the state hospitals into a new program. We need to imagine a program, that provides one on one support, we need to move people out doors, and we need to let paitents do their own chores like cooking and cleaning. Meditation, socializing, and exercise are needed too. It may sound like this program is expensive but if we let people harm one another, it will waste our money. Healing centers can help to heal addictions by removing them from a source of illegal drugs.

State hospitals may address the mental health crisis but are they actually successful? Funding busses to healing centers, actually seems like a good idea. These places can become places where families can come together to do interesting things outdoors like gardening, hiking, cooking, biking, and swimming.

First and foremost, can you help add to our blog? How can your organization help us?

How can we spend our money more wisely?
