Meditation is a Human Nessesity

Dear Kadampa Buddhism Meditation Center and Baha’i Center, And all the readers of the blog.

In order to work together in the community we must have a way to achieve inner peace. This is to make mindful decisions and to make friends.

In today’s world, businesses never really involve spirituality as part of their missions. Spirituality could mean getting outdoors, socializing, getting work done and eating together Priests should volunteer and work side by side in the garden with regular people. Meditation is a human necessity. In order to make peace on the farm or at work, we need to work with on our own inner peace too. Otherwise how can we all get along? We may ask ourselves which is more important, working for a big business or achieving inner peace on a farm or at work.

Once ‘Garden Rangers’ gets going, there are many things that we can do with people who have mental illness: We can go for bike rides, swimming, taking care of animals, caring for the elderly, tree reforestation, working in the garden, and more.
There is so much environmentally friendly work available. There are plenty of volunteers too. We can call on college students, the elderly, and stay-at-home parents, all working side by side. “Garden Rangers” is an idea that brings these people together.

We may find that we are living in a spiritual desert. Parents don’t work with children in the garden. People go to church on the weekends but never find time to connect with nature. We need outer peace in addition to inner peace. Outer peace means we stop chopping down the rain forests. Outer peace means that we stop factoring farming, it means that we are aware where food comes from and how it kills animals and destroys the soil.

If we want to save the planet then meditation is a human necessity. We need to make changes. Meditation acknowledges that there are problems and brainstorms how to make things better. Gardens for earth is an organization where people can learn to practice meditation.

How can we at Gardens for Earth, help to find more time for community and spirituality and reach out to more people?
